We're not trying to do "School at Home." We're trying to do homeschool. These are two entirely different propositions. We're not trying to replicate the time, style or content of the classroom. Rather we're trying to cultivate a lifestyle of learning in which learning takes place from morning until bedtime 7 days each week. The "formal" portion of each teaching day is just the tip of the iceberg. ~Steve and Jane Lambert~

August Update!
Big changes are in the air for August! We only have a couple of weeks before school officially starts. I am taking a trip to Kirtland, Ohio http://www.lds.org/placestovisit/region/0,10749,1775-1-1,00.html to see LDS church history sites with the two older children . This will be my final stop on my American LDS Church History sites to visit. Brian surprised me, by booking the flight for our first week of school. I am so excited! We will also stop at the Art Museum in Cleveland http://www.clemusart.com/ and at the NASA site. Who knew NASA http://www.nasa.gov/centers/glenn/home/index.html had a site there?
Brian celebrates his 20th reunion this year and will attend that in Salt Lake City. He plans on golfing and meeting up with his old buddies.
Next, Brian’s parents are coming into town for the baptism of Noah- He officially turns 8 and will baptized this month. We are blessed to have such great family!
Hillary leaves to Especially For Youth http://ce.byu.edu/yp/efy-programs/efy/index.cfm and is super excited. I love how she is confident enough to go by herself and meet people. What an incredible gift that is! On the return home, we will visit the Eric Carle Museum http://www.picturebookart.org/Home and the Home of Emily Dickinson http://www.emilydickinsonmuseum.org/ since we studied her poetry last year!
I have two things that I am doing this month- Taking a day trip to Portland, Maine to see the Georgia O’Keefe exhibit as well as the Ansel Adams Photography exhibit at the Art Museum http://www.portlandmuseum.org/ . I am also considering an overnight in Connecticut to visit the Titanic Exhibit http://www.wfsb.com/betterct/15844980/detail.html , the Harriet Beecher Stowe Home http://www.harrietbeecherstowecenter.org/life/ and The Mark Twain Museum http://www.marktwainmuseum.org/ with the children! This will be such a fun month for ART & LIT!
